Hello I am looking for advice on these trees.
I have two cedar trees growing near my house and I'm not sure if they need to be removed because of possible root growth. I really love them so I'd hate to cut them down unless I have to.
We moved in about 16 years ago and they were just above the roof height, so they have grown some since then. I'm not sure what kind of cedar trees they are, maybe the Easter Red Cedar? I know it's a cedar because it smells like one when I cut the branches.
I'm not sure about how close they are to the house. They are maybe 5-6' away. The house is built with the lower level being half-way down in the earth.

I can’t zoom in but the shape doesn’t scream cedar to me, show us a close up of the leaves?
Meanwhile, I don’t imagine they are going to be a major issue for a few more decades at least.
How long you plan to live here?
I’d reduce their encroachment on the building, I wouldn’t remove
