  1. I live in the Arizona high desert… gorgeous day in the garden. I learned how to garden from you. 🌻 Also… pill bugs absolutely ate my seedlings last year. 😉

  2. Hey Jess, last year I never got a chance to start tomatoes but as soon as it got warm, I noticed hundreds of tomato plants coming up along with other plants that I didn’t get to start! I sold that property last fall and the younger family I sold it to was so excited that the abundance was going to be theirs! This year I am starting seeds and excited for upcoming abundance! Thanks for sharing the possibilities of Spring! We enjoyed 50+ degrees today as well so I see Spring on the horizon as well even if my weather notifications just let me know tomorrow will be 30 degrees colder than today! I still have faith it will be here soon! 🤗 peace and blessings!

  3. Southern Indiana and we have a big Rollie pollie invasion as well and I will absolutely second the fact that they do and will eat seedlings and can do a lot of damage in an organic garden.

  4. Yes, I worry every time that my seeds won't germinate and grow! Or that my little 4 inch seedlings won't grow up to never ending tomato vines because how is that even possible… lol!

  5. Here in south Arkansas, tomorrow,March 1st the high is supposed to be 82° I know we'll still have some cold night's yet,but I love this weather.

  6. I had so many rollie pollies last year, it looked like the ground was moving! My seedlings all got decimated immediately as soon as they were planted. I ended up using sluggo and it within 2 days there was a huge difference. Within 2 weeks everything was back in balance and my plants were able to start growing.

  7. Now that you are talking about roses…. Did the rose from your other farm make it. If I remember right you took a cutting to keep it. tangerine was in the name.

  8. You should totally seed your path with buffalo grass or a low mow path!
I tried wasp Botox and I am not a fan🤣 as much as that hurt and it was only one eye too but still a big nope for me lol

  9. I feel you when you say the tension is there just patiently waiting for the slight break through the soil. Especially off season. 60-70 degrees in CO , is so unusual for us. Taking chances sowing things early.

  10. It was 82°F today where I live and my last frost date is March 2nd. I spent the day planting, harvested asparagus for dinner and cut some oregano to dry.

  11. Thank you I’m in Ohio and I needed a little garden time
I’ve been looking at seeds today trying to hold off a little longer before I start much

  12. I've not beein a good mood today. I'll refrain from saying why. I was so glad to get the notification that you had posted a new video. I so needed some Jess in my life today. What a perfect way to lift my mood. Thanks, Jess!

  13. I just saw a recent video about grabbing all those dandelion seeds and doing micro greens with them!!!! Talk about a no brainer. 🤦 The best part is that they are not bitter. I am so excited to give it a go this year. We can save our seeds and have dandelion micro greens all through the off season. So so totally cool.

  14. Jess, I will be 74 in a couple of weeks. I had my first independent garden in the 3rd grade – dahlias, watermelon, tomatoes. And I STILL get "are you ever coming up" anxiety every year. One of my smaller gardens is right outside the den windows, and I catch myself looking out the window checking on them several times a say. You will never outgrow it!

  15. Found your book a couple weeks ago and it lit a fire that's been due for a long long time. This year, God willing, I become a gardener. Thanks for putting so much encouragement out into the world!

  16. I have had the same issue with germination stress 😅 Still staring at my peppers. I have seriously thought about reseeding, but i know i do NOT need abundance!

  17. I do the same thing as you, when I don’t see my seeds germinating fast enough for me. I panic and add more seed.

  18. For walkways I have some mulch, some prunella cover crop, but my favorite in my area is wood stove pellets. I wet and spread them 2 in thick as sawdust and it keeps the mud down, weeds out, and is nice to walk on. Not sure if it's expensive in your area or not. I use them in my dick yard also and then I can put all dirty duck bedding into the compost or direct on beds.

  19. 🙋🏼‍♀️ A show of hands
    right here –
    for everyone who believe/knows
    Rollie-Pollies
    DO EAT PLANTS
    and/or
    the plant roots.

  20. Roly polies eat my strawberries!! They are worse than the slugs! Had to move my strawberry plants into big containers to keep thecworst out! Even with slug go and other things thst help some.

  21. I walk around my suburban neighborhood with my 2 children, 5yo and 4 months old, a few times a week. Yesterday, my daughter decided to point out all the signs of spring. Ladybugs, beetles, worms, weedy flowers, buds on trees, daffodills and tulips and grape hyacinths starting to grow. It's earlier than normal. Today, we went to a local seed exchange where we got free or cheap seeds from our neighbors. I can't wait to start planting!

  22. I have had such a difficult time getting chamomile going. I will try planting it earlier or maybe get some of the polish variety you mentioned.

  23. My potatoes went in the ground today, Yesterday I planted most of my seeds in my new 4×4 seed greenhouse. AND the first 3 asparagus came up today!!!! 🙂
