Children will be able to get growing at Dobbies Garden Centre in Moreton Park at the next session of the monthly Little Seedlings Club on Sunday, March 1.

The theme for March is peas and other pod plants, and the workshop will introduce different types of peas, which ones are edible, and the opportunity to sow their own pea seeds.

Ayesha Nickson, events programme manager at Dobbies, said: “As we start to see the first signs of spring, now is a perfect time for our Little Seedlings to get excited about spring planting by learning about peas and pod plants, and why they are important for gardens and soil.

“This hands-on workshop will be a great way for kids to get excited about all the sowing and growing they can do this year. We’re looking forward to welcoming kids along to this month’s workshop and we’re excited to hear how their pea seeds thrive.”

The March session will explore what peas and pod plants are, what happens inside a pod, how climbing plants grow and why they climb, and why pod plants are important for gardens.

Children will take part in interactive activities and games, with the chance to ask questions.

Dobbies’ Little Seedlings Club takes place each month at the Moreton Park store, covers a range of different seasonal topics and is free to attend.

It is designed to be fun and engaging for kids, with interactive activities and games to encourage curiosity about gardens and nature, with the chance to ask lots of questions.

Parents interested in booking a place for the March session can do so online at www.dobbies.com/events.
