About a month ago, I pulled some fishing line out from a lake tangled on a tree stump, and out with it came some apparent pods (for eelgrass?) and I decided to scoop some of the lake water and keep the pods.

A lot of algae started to form within the jar, so now I have introduced a (bladder?) snail along with some other random seaweeds. Snail here came from a pet store, and I acclimated properly before introducing to the jar ecosystem (I'll provide details here if needed).

Snail and Hitchhiker (another snail actually from another lake, currently in a different jar) have survived their first nights in their jars and they seem to be happily slipping and sliding and algae feeding!

any advice? I haven't had aquatic pets before and I am excited!

Bladder snails are literally the easiest snails to keep, so no advice 😛
