Someone asked me in another post to post pics of my VFT, and my fertilizer schedule and what I use.

These pics are in chronological order. The 1st picture starts off at June of last year. And the final picture was from today with the plants coming out of dormancy. Due to picture limit, I didn't really include any really in detail pictures because I wanted to show case the growth of the plants and not focus on the aesthetic beauty.

I started off with a single of B-52, single typical, single dente, and single akai ryu in the large pot. Later on I added a typical VFT purchased from Home Depot. The one from Home Depot was actually I think 3 plants.

Over the course the of last years growing season, every single VFT split rhizome multiple times, further crowding the already crowded pot. Only a few plants are out of dormancy now, and it is already too crowded. I hope the ground outside is defrosted before all of the VFT start growing strongly so I can repot some of them outside.

Some of the final photos are more recent. But there was a large gap between certain stages, just more because I did not take pictures. In the final pictures, it may look like there is a dead D. scorpiodes, but it finished producing gemmae and if you look closely, you will see lots of little D. scorpiodes plants growing and poking out of the moss and bladderwort.

For fertilizer, I use Max Sea Plant Fertilizer 16-16-16. I take a quarter teaspoon of the fertilzer pellets, and mix it in with a gallon of water. During growing season – once a week I apply a drop or two to a single trap per plant. I do not add any bugs, but they do catch random spiders, moths, and other winged insect that happens into their traps.
