The Seed Snail method is really limited in what you can grow with it. I compare indoor seed starting methods with basic pros and cons in my linked related YT video.

  1. You are right. I haven't tried it but it does look too much work and too messy, so no, thank you from me, I'll pass 🙂

  2. I start everything in 72 cell trays and when I need to bump up I go to solo cups . I have tried starting peppers directly in solo cups but they are to tall to large of volume of soil for heat Matt to be effective so I start in standard cells bump up into solo cups and then up to 1 gallon pots for transplanting into the raised beds but I also have 80 + 15 gallon pots so being in Northern Alberta I find peppers grow and produce best here in black pots I do 80 peppers into the 15 gallon pots they are heavy I’m 63 and crippled up a bit so I use a four wheel
Dolly to move 3 pots out to the south facing deck at a time I get them all outside and use shade cloth / no shade cloth And full insulated tarp to harden off the plants over a week without moving them in and out of the house

  3. I had excellent results last season using this method. Granted my first roll wasn’t that great and sloppy but each one I made after got better. I only started plants that I didn’t want to pot up and needed a lot for a tour of my gardens, Gomphrena, nicotiana , salvia and more. Don’t use cardboard or paper. Saved a lot of space under my grow lights. I still start plenty using traditional methods.
