My takeaway today is thankfulness. You are all safe! And the second takeaway is the TRUE definition of "popup bag", where your cutie daughter "pops up"!!!โค
Oh yeah drywall dust gets everywhere no matter how hard you try to be clean itโs such a fine dust.
edit: oh the old farmhouse is still plaster and lath thatโs even messer lol and a pain to repair as not many know how to do that anymore
What fire ???? Hope everyone is safe. In comments I'm seeing attic fire???? Was there a lot of fire and water damage???? Sending prayers to you and your family โค
So happy to watch the clean up around the pond. The snow finally melted around ours but now the ground is so wet and more snow is on the way Sunday! So glad to see that the reno is underway. You are right about the mess. Wait until the drywall starts. ๐
Will the baby fish have interesting colors as the bigger ones.
Itโs short-sleeved weather in zone 8a north Alabama, perfect for perennial cleanup. Found out that Iโm allergic to miscanthus! Oops!
Thanks for sharing your remodel plans. In your laundry room, please consider making the door to the toilet a pocket door so when it is open, you will have sunshine from the window into the laundry area.
So very thankful y'all are safe and that the fire was limited.
So thankful you all are ok not much damage to your home! Love renovating so I am thoroughly enjoying following along. Thank you for sharing!!!
Hi Laura! I bought an orange tree about a month ago put it in front of my patio window and it has a grow light on it! It has been losing leaves and the buds like crazy! Do you think it may be dying or is that normal? I have wanted an orange tree for so long and finally got one so it is a little worrisome
ove our YouTube site learning a lot. I live in 8b. My bulbs still have green stems. What to do?
I agree glad you are safe!! I have 2pocketdoors in my house I love them.

๐๐ถ Good Day Garden Answer .. Laura I watched a 7year old video this morning, thinking it was today's.. it fitted in perfecting I thought .. But needless to say I learned differently in the afternoon .. Good Grief.. Great job on the clean up on both videos ๐๐๐ Laugh out Loud when Samantha popped up from your catch bag ..๐ฏ Blessing ya on your demo .. Praying everything goes smoothly from now on ๐๐ถ ๐จ๐ฆ
How did you attach the trellises to your house, specifically around the block foundation? I want to mount some to brick, but want them held away from the wall to allow room for growth.
Sounds like you are going to have a complete rewire for the entire house before you redo the kitchen and laundry.
The rose – Julia Child? Was that the one that blew over and you had to stand it back up?

Why don't you just get a couple of really big trees like you've planted before and plant them on the south side of the pond to have more instant shade
that pipe that goes to nothing ..might be a VENT pipe
I love gardening and home renovation. I so happy you are including us in that part as well.
Hopefully that was your LAST fire as well. Heavens! Glad it was put out quickly and everyone is ok. Question on your spring cleanup. We have a massive amount of Spirea bushes that look overgrown in a new house we recently moved into. I know say with a coral berry bush you cut those back to about 12 inches from the ground? Would you do the same with the Spirea and any other similar shrub? I have identified the three Dโs but want to know how short I can cut back these bushes? Thanks, Jen
Since you are enlarging the window in the new laundry room powder room, you could also put a glass transom window above that powder room door to bring more light into the laundry room.
So excited for your renovation! ๐
In New England we are experiencing another snow storm of 4โ-8โ this evening. Yes, I admit I am a bit envious of Laura. Howevet, we have had several years of summer droughts. I AM hoping all the snow we have experienced this winter, as in winters years back, WILL make a difference ๐.
Renovation joys โค
Thank you for including the home renovations, though not gardening content. We consider ourselves as GA fam and friends and love to see your success in all things. BTW, I heard that pop up bag say it wanted to go to the โduck tapeโ spa! In camo, not silver!
You've got yourself a little Jack-in-the-box there ๐
Y'all had a photo of the annual plumbago. The hardy plumbago is Ceratostigma.
I love the sound of the pond!
