In this cosy cottage vlog, we’re out treasure hunting.
First stop is Danny’s Curiosity Shop, a proper hidden gem packed with vintage bits, antiques and unexpected finds. I’m on the hunt for the perfect side table for the cottage… but will I actually find it?
After that, we head to Ratoath Garden Centre for a slow wander through the plants and John Lord’s garden, where I pick up lots of young perennials and cottage garden favourites. Back home, I share a little garden haul and chat through my plans for the garden this year, what I’m planting and what I want to build.
It’s a gentle mix of vintage shopping, garden inspiration, and slow cottage life, perfect if you love thrifting, home decor, gardening, and cosy days out.

  1. Love the tour of the farm you showed us, appreciate seeing you help a small community while you have fun looking at the vintage and antiques along with the animals. I too have an appreciation for goats, I live in a dry area where the brush has gotten out of control and have been wanting goats for some time to manage the region. And they are such cute fickle animals, funny altogether.

  2. We moved late last year so I've got a new garden, it's smaller than the last one and paved badly, but it's mine and I hope to cover the pavers in fake grass, and grow lots of plants in pots and have my water features and enjoy the process and maybe grow some fruit, veg and herbs. ❤

  3. Time stamp 6.07, the picture of the little girl, 6.21 the old typewriter, 6.49 the scale, & 8.12 dishes……all things I liked.
Was fun spending the day with you over a cup of coffee.

  4. Wow! Lots of plans! Every morning while I have my coffee I write down all the things I want to do for the day. I'm lucky if I get three done. 🤷😊 Awe well, I need to stop being distracted by things. 😉

  5. Kitchen blinds or Roman shades
    Which ever you choose …
Make sure to install 3 separate blinds
This way each will operate independently…
Also start them at the ceiling height to give you the illusion of a higher ceiling and most importantly easy dusting and keeping the top areas Cleaner and from collecting dust

I would line them as well for privacy and warmth

To cover at least 1/2 of the window area is more than enough for privacy

If you can sew you might consider making them yourself
There is an American YouTube channel where the woman makes and teaches people how to make drapery build and also reupholster furniture

She lives in sw florida area Mimzy and Company YouTube

  6. Big year for me! I’ve lived in my south facing new build garden for 3 years. It’s ok but isn’t my vibe and doesn’t give much joy… One of the first things I did when I moved in was draw my dream garden design, and I’m finally going to see if come into being this April 🎉

  7. Quickly becoming my absolute favorite channel. , I just watched your whole garden video from a month ago and I’m absolutely inspired..

  8. I'm getting old and our weather can be iffy. Year before last I had a medical issue that kept me down most of gardening season. Last year I was able to clean up my beds in spring but then hurt my back right at the beginning of planting season and it was almost autumn before I could get back at it. So my plan for this year is to hopefully stay well and to clean up my beds a bit and then work on trying to establish more perennials so that as the days approach when I most likely won't be able to do more than some maintenance tasks I'll still have some beautiful flowers to look at and my birds and butterflies will still be happy to visit. I can scarcely believe that soon I will have gone around the sun 70 times. That just doesn't seem possible to me. I still feel like I want to be doing the same things I did in my 20's and 30's but there are times when my body reminds me that it's just not possible any more. I'm sure I'll always putter around in the yard but the days of me doing seriously physically demanding yard work are, I think, behind me. The sooner I accept that the happier my back will be.

  9. Here is Sweden i still got 50cm snow left and it's -13C today. A long way to get it as nice weather as u have. But its perfect to get to many ideas for the spring 🤣🤣
