Nasty scale infestation, Looks like its dying back.

Is the bottom segment firm? If the bottom segment is firm, thats good. Firstly, with a sharp & sterilized blade, cut off whats soft & floppy. Dispose of the floppy segments.

Next, physical removal of the scale, theres a lot of ways to do this. Some scale species are on more strongly than others, so they determine what works. Sometimes just hosing them off works, sometimes scrubbin with water & a toothbrush.

After the scale is fully removed, topical pesticide & fungicide should be used. For the fungicide, use a sulphur or copper dry powder, and apply the powder to the wound.

For the pesticide- i advise “capt jack dead bug brew” and “capt jack tomato & veg” you can use just one, or both and alternate use. Spray the cac once a week to prevent the scale from establishing (the two listed sprays are non toxic and water based)
