Roommate's plant that she is not sure about.

It is RESILIENT because it has survived little care. I want to make sure I am not overwatering it as the leaves are "succulent-y". 🙂

Looks like a jade plant that isn’t getting enough light. The elongated stem growth between the leaves is an indicator called etoliation. It’s trying to reach for more light.

Looks like a jade plant to me!! (Not 100% sure though!)

  3. It’s not jade, it’s an elephant bush, “Portulacaria afra”

It’s dwarf jade plant (Portulacaria afra). I have two xxxxl ones outdoors from my grandmother that are almost 2 meter hight(ok with the big pot). Extremely hard plant to kill and very nice if you train/shape it!!

We call it spekboom, after some research apparently, everyone else calls it elephants foot. Thats my guess!

Portulacaria afra. It’s a succulent so it likes little water

Trim back the longer branches and put it in direct light. You can put those trimmings into a new pot and have new plants. I water down the soil first and then put the cuttings in. If you do this use cactus mix. I make my own blend of soil but, as a beginner don’t worry about that now. Some will say to let the plant callus overnight before putting it in the soil with Jade or elephant bush I don’t bother they do fine.
I water mine when it starts looking a little wrinkly. It needs full sun so if you can’t put it outside put it in a windowsill where it gets a lot of light.
