Got myself a new axe, so to test it out, I figured I would go do some canebrake management at work by eliminating some Chinese privet and thinning out the boxelder a bit. Not the best time of year, I know, but it won't hurt.

So I'm out there, smoking a pipe and swinging a sharp axe, felling every privet I can see and girdling the boxelder when a massive flock of sandhills flies over. Common for this part of Tennessee at this time of year, but still super special. Days like today make me feel more like a Great Value Aldo Leopold than anything else haha.
