MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – The Evergreen Presbyterian Church is hosting its Third Annual Guns to Gardens Safe Surrender event in effort to reduce gun violence in Memphis and Shelby County.

The event will take on Saturday, February 28 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. at 561 South Prescott Street.

During this event, gun owners can anonymously turn in their unwanted guns as they will be transformed into garden tools.

Reverend Patrick Harley, pastor of Evergreen Presbyterian Church, says at the two previous events, more than 130 unwanted firearms were surrendered and dismantled.
