Holy Rosary Parish has announced plans to move forward with a Garden Mausoleum Addition at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Larose, providing families with new burial options designed to serve both present and future generations.
The parish has entered into an agreement with American Cemetery Consultants, LLC of New Orleans to conduct a pre-construction analysis to determine the number of mausoleum spaces needed. Once pre-sales are completed and the final size of the project is established, construction will be scheduled. The project has received full approval from the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
According to parish officials, the mausoleum will be built to stand the test of time, featuring steel-reinforced, poured-in-place concrete walls and floors, an exterior stone fascia, and sealed concrete crypts with granite shutters. Names and dates may be purchased and installed on the granite shutters at the time of need.
The project also emphasizes long-term care and maintenance. An endowed care fund will be established solely for the upkeep of the mausoleum, with interest and earnings dedicated to preserving the structure for centuries to come.
Church leaders note that pre-planning burial arrangements can provide peace of mind for families while helping protect against rising costs. Pre-construction pricing is currently available, along with reasonable payment terms spread over time. Burial spaces will be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis, allowing families to select their preferred locations before construction begins.
Representatives from American Cemetery Consultants will be available over the next several weeks to answer questions, discuss options, and assist families interested in reserving spaces.

The announcement was signed by Rev. Stephen P. Castille, Administrator of Holy Rosary Parish, who expressed confidence that the new mausoleum will reflect the care, dignity, and love held for deceased family members within the community.
