Wish I watched this before buying my lights. Just bought them from Epic Gardening ($100) last summer – they are only 1100 lm. Sounds like I wasted my money.
Your grow room is so COOL! My plant stand doesn't give lumens–only watts. I'm trying to find out, from the vender without much luck. Anyway. My plants seem to be growing well on the stand.

I bought a grow light for commercial growing cannabis or something this light i bought is a purple pinkish color and you can probably see it from space, i went overkill on accident lol
Ok, so I get that the color of light doesnt dictate the distance of it, but what is the optimal color for seedlings? Would it be in the middle, around daylight?
Now I know whaty my seeds when sprouting got so thin! They did have legging. I didn't know it was the lighting issue. I took mine off the grow lights to get natural light from my back door full sized window.❤ Thank you Luke for this info. I will try my seeds indoors and will do things differently now. I have to buy some more seeds I bought from you last time. They took really well when I direct seeded
What would you recommend for plants who prefer cooler temps to germinate but your grow light puts out a lot of heat? I have a 2k lumen light, but when I put it that low, it felt like it was getting too warm and I was worried it would hinder germination

I use SANSI grow lights. Even with just one light at over 2 feet away from the soil, seeds sprouted in my indoor plants. That's how I found out I had weeds in my soil, haha. They're great lights.
Just another quick tip, put a light breeze from a small circulating fan as well to help promote stem strength!
