Join me for a tour of my garden in Northeast Portland, Oregon (USDA Zone 8b/9a) in mid-January. In this video, I highlight plants that provide winter interest in my Pacific Northwest garden. I’ve included as many helpful links as possible within the limits of the YouTube description. Thank you very much for showing your winter garden😊. I invested already in my evergreen structure here in Germany 6b, and i see that i have to go on further with this project.
Can you please make a video, when you prune your tree? Thank you🤗
Thank you! I love how your plants weave through each other. So many lovely “vignettes”. This is so helpful since I often don’t know what to plant with what!
Thank you, Darcy!
Thanks for sharing your garden with us. What is the white bark tree on the left side of your front entrance stairway?
I’m very impressed you can remember all of those botanical names! Thank you for putting the names up there
This weather in PDX has been amazing. I have spent more time outside in the yard this January than I have in years or maybe ever.
Lovely. I love all the dwarf conifers that seem to do well in the shade!
Absolutely gorgeous! We recently moved into our home in the PNW/zone 8b. I have a huge yard I’m trying to figure out what to do with! Your yard is inspiring!
I love how you have pruned the loquat. Do you ever get flowers from yours? I've had mine for 3 or 4 years but never any flowers. The kalmiopsis is totally new to me. I would love to find one of those. Thanks for the video!
Beatiful. Thanks for sharing!
I loved your garden
I wish I could find a varigated yopon holly, so beautiful
Thank you for sharing your garden. It is lovely and, as always, an inspiration for the pnw gardeners. With more of the freezing nights on the way, are you concerned about your scheffleras?
That's about the size my x ‘Austin Griffiths' was when I planted him (back in 2011), it will be fun to watch yours grow!
Absolutely love your garden! I look forward to every video!
I also have a big doug fir to contend with, so it was great learning what works under there. Would be great to have a whole video just for that.
How often do you need to water in winter (in general, and specifically under the doug fir)?
Thank you so much for sharing your lovely garden and wisdom.
