Hi all, in Australia here.
I have two outdoor pigface (Carpobrotus) plants in my yard. In the final picture, you can see that they're in quite close proximity to eachother, however, the one at the back is bright green and healthy stemmed while the problem plant is a darker hue and has woody, weakening stems.
At first, I thought this was due to one getting more sunlight than the other and appreciated the funky shade difference but I'm starting to believe it's actually sick after a closer inspection. The sunlight difference is also pretty minimal and only hits in the late evening for about an hour between plants.
I water once every few days depending on the weather, usually my Salvia let's me know if I've waited too long because she's gets droopy and sad quickly. I never water less than every three days and we've had very little rain over the summer here.
Both plants receive the same treatment and the problem plant has been this shade for as long as I can recall. Soil is kind of clay heavy but healthy. Lots of worms and happy critters. The garden is mulched too.
Anyone know what might be wrong? I've thought about over watering but the other plants in the strip beside the problem one wilt quickly and scream thirsty often. It has been knicked by the mower a couple times but has been growing steadily this colour since planting. Would love some helpful expertise!
Thank you in advance!
