I haven’t touched my garden since last fall — so today I’m sitting down and sharing my 2026 garden plan 🌱
In this video, I’m walking you through:
How I’m simplifying seed starting
Why I’m still using seed rolls
What I’m growing (and what I’m not growing anymore)
Focusing on crops that store well, grow well here, and that we actually eat
Garden projects that make life easier as I get older
I’m starting onions today and talking through my plans for:
Brassicas (mostly for fall)
Leafy greens like kale, spinach, and lettuce
Medicinal & culinary herbs (including skincare herbs)
Tomatoes (with a big shift this year)
Squash, sweet potatoes, flowers, and more
My goal this year is less work, better systems, and more joy in the garden — using what I already have and growing what truly works for us.

  1. I live in the tropics of Queensland Australia, I can’t grow in the summer, too hot, too humid. I’m looking at just getting my garden ready to grow through Autumn, winter and spring. I’ve learnt with tomatoes bush tomatoes as they grow produce and finish. ❤

  2. I vowed off of another vegetable garden as last year it was one big frustration after another ….. but now it looks tempting ! 🌿😂🙄
Off topic ; your hair is always so pretty , I’d love to watch a video of how you do it up and it stays in place so well !

  3. Hi since my fall last year and not working and just me..65 and limited physically I have decided to really not grow this year until I can maybe get some raised veggo bed and afford them as have to had water since pump lines are broke so just too much this year..I do think I may have a few herbs and do sprouts and microgreens..I need to start building the soil I have and maybe middle of year get some more composting worms and start adding the results to my soil along with composting things..Your garden looks good I admire you..Patricia

  4. After many years of planting waaaayyy too much, and spending all summer weeding and drying and freezing and canning, I swore no garden this year. I’ll grow some things to eat, and herbs, but I’m taking a break this summer.
