Siloé Oliveira: I Transformed a Bare Hillside into the ULTIMATE Cottage Garden
I transform my bare hillside front yard into a beautiful cottage garden in one growing season.

I love how your homemade greenhouses quietly balance function and beauty. I’m curious how you built them. Have you ever considered wicking beds or pots for the entire cottage garden to keep watering consistent and disease down? And how do you keep deer and other animals from eating everything?
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.” 1 Corinthians 3:6
This transformation is truly incredible to witness, let alone cultivate. I'm deeply curious to know what other wildlife find sanctuary in your garden. Are there cats? Squirrels? Birds? I would love to see a video that highlights the highs and lows of the little locals! Thank you for the peaceful reprieve that is your channel! 💖🍃🌷
Beautyfull garden !!!Love all your work be it gardening , painting , and musical !The garden could use maybee more perenials that are flowering towards autumn like japanese anemonies , nepeta , gaura lindheimeri and paniculata hydraneas , rudbekia triloba , euforbias aswell , some grasses like panicum ….?Hope your gardening dreams come true in 2026 !But the trip is the main goal !!!:)
I think you should aim at heat and cold tolerant native plants, and also add more foliage plants with different colours, shapes, forms, heights and textures, to achieve a beautiful garden all year round. Not sure though, I'm not experienced.
As a (bigger) hill owner- if you use and want your wood retainers to last burn the outside of the logs. They’ll last for years. Also recommend native grasses along your erosion spots. As native plants out weigh non natives root depth. Thank you for sharing.
i bet you will achieve your dream of a spring to fall garden! Beauty everywhere; you give me inspiration and hope for this year's container and raised beds garden.
This is lovely. I really appreciate how much you've covered here with footage from the whole growing season. I also love that you are sharing it now, so others can actually follow your advice.
It all looks lovely! It just feels like it's missing some depth, which true blues like bachelor buttons, flax and various blue veronicas (ground cover) could provide.
So beautiful! I’m determined to get sweet peas going here in my sub-tropical climate for a winter/early spring bloom. Perhaps a water tank would be an idea – I think a bit of extra water will keep your garden fresher for longer.
An absolutely inspiring transformation—turning a bare hillside into the ultimate cottage garden is pure creativity, patience, and love for nature in full bloom 🌸🌿✨
you should keep making music! I appreciate the vision you have for the composition you shared. it has a sense of uniqueness and dreaminess that I really like. also congratulations on the success you had with your cottage garden this last (?) year, it looked amazing! and I'm glad that you were able to grow some hollyhocks successfully! I have to say though, the stand outs for me were the pink poppies and the roses, WOW! beautiful. looking forward to what this new year will bring for your garden and home 🙂
I watched the evening news and my broken heart came here. Thank you for a gentle place for my eyes to feast upon and my ears be reminded of fireflies and children dancing. I grow lots of flowers from seeds and consider them my children and I love to watch them dance in the breeze. Bless you for being you and sharing your labor of love with us.
Your hollyhocks finally showed up and showed out. I love that for you. Your garden has inspired so many. I adore the glimpses into your gentle soul. Little do you know how you're garden has created a ripple into the world you cannot see. Hours upon hours I spent in my own cottage garden, listening to your videos whilst planting my own eden. My neighbors would thank you if they knew. I wish you could see the space you helped unknowingly create. The seeds of inspiration you plant go well beyond your own yard. ❤

Beautiful. So jealous you get to have spring bulbs as early as February. We're at -15 C all February long and probably into March here in Finland.
