PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – The Portland Japanese Garden was named as one of the most beautiful gardens in the world by magazine Homes & Gardens.
The Portland Japanese Garden was one of 21 gardens from around the world that made the list.
The garden was designed in 1963 and features eight garden spaces across a 12-acre site.
Currently, the garden is hosting Moss Appreciation Week until Sunday, Feb. 15.
“Whether you pay a visit to the authentic Japanese Tea House, the raked gravel of the Flat Garden, or the waterfall of the Strolling Pond Garden, you won’t fail to be enchanted by this magical Japanese Garden,” Homes & Garden wrote.
Six other gardens in the United States also made the list: The New York Botanical Garden, Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park in Michigan, Chicago Botanic Garden, Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, The High Line in New York, and Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens.
Other gardens that made the list include Claude Monet’s Garden in France, Gardens by the Bay in Singapore, and The Butchart Gardens in British Columbia.
