The scheme to revamp The Millennium Gardens, opposite The Chequers Beerhouse in High Street, has included replacing the wooden benches with metal ones and planting seven trees.
One of the benches was donated by the Stevenage Old Town Business and Community Partnership (SOTBCP), with the rest secured by former councillor Jodie Hanafin via The Stevenage Conservative Party.
The project was a collective effort of the SOTBCP, Councillor Coleen De Freitas, and The Friends of Old Stevenage.
SOTBCP member Paul Sear said: “Special thanks also go to Veronica Chan at Stevenage Borough Council, who helped us navigate through the Climate Change Community Fund application and liaised with the Green Spaces Development Team to get the trees planted.”
