SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – State Rep. Carl Gilliard will host a housing fair Saturday to help residents move from renting to owning homes.
The “Come Get Your Keys” event will take place at 10 a.m. at the Empowerment Center on Augusta Road. Gilliard is partnering with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs’ Georgia Dream Program for the housing fair.
Since 2016, Gilliard has worked with the Georgia Dream Program and other lenders to help more than 300 people achieve homeownership. Attendees will meet with Georgia Dream Program representatives and professional realtors.
Updated guidelines now include eligibility for FHA funding and conventional loans, expanding homeownership opportunities for residents, Gilliard said.
