Flowers may be all the rage in spring, but summer is also a great time to admire blooms like roses, lavender, and sunflowers. And if you’re a fan of these bright, cheery plants, then you should definitely check out The World’s Largest Sunflower. Located in a stunning legacy garden on the Mornington Peninsula, you’ll see 3,000 individual sunflowers arranged to look like one giant flower. The flowers will be open for the public to view at Mornington Green across two weekends, from Friday February 20 to Sunday February 22, and from Friday February 27 to Sunday March 1.

Back for its third year, you’re invited to stroll among 3,000 sunflowers. You’ll find plenty of fun for the whole family, with access to a photobooth, as well as free professional photos for you to print. When you’re not exploring the gardens, try out some lawn games.
Hot food and drinks will be available to purchase. If you’d like, you can also pre-order a picnic pack for $55. Each pack feeds three people, and includes classic nibbles like cheese, salami, olives, fruit, biscuits and chocolate. It comes with a basket and blanket for you to use. Of course, you’re also welcome to bring your own food.

This destination is a botanical memorial garden, and is all about celebrating life. Here, families can transform the ashes of their loved ones and their pets into living trees. At the Living Legacy Forest, processed ashes are used to nourish the soil, so that trees can grow and thrive. In this way, you can visit your loved ones, and watch their legacy grow into something beautiful and precious. Their mission is to plant 6,000 memorial trees across Mornington, and there’s all sorts of lovely trees to choose from, such as oak, jacaranda, cherry blossom, golden wattle and flowering crab apple.
If trees don’t resonate, you can also choose to add ashes to the Flower Garden, where you’ll see daffodils, sunflowers, tulips, roses and foxgloves flourish.
