Today was sunny and mild, temp in the 70’s, no more snow and ice. The garlic survived our recent hard freeze. Time to fertilize it for spring. NE Texas.

Have 24 grow bags (15-gallon size) and most have 3 garlic plants, mainly  Amish Rocambole (hard neck.) About a fourth is Elephant Garlic, which I understand is actually a type of leek. Purchased from Gurney. Planted 1st and 2nd November of last year.

I lifted off the mulch, applied and lightly raked in about a tablespoon of blood meal 12-0-0 and about a half a cup of Espoma Garden Tone 3-4-4. Watered it in, re-applied the mulch. Watered again.

Right now, some of the leaves are a little beat up from the recent cold weather (snow plus sustained freeze,) but I saw no signs of pests or disease. The spot in which they are growing gets full sun for at least 6 or 8 hours a day.

Am hoping this top dressing will stimulate leaf growth.
