I have had this monstera for going on 5 years. It started out as a very small indoor houseplant and has completely taken off since being put outside. The only downside to planting it in the ground is I couldn’t move it to the garage with my other plants ahead of the recent cold snap we experienced in South Florida. This plant has given me a number of fruit and countless propagations. I’m so sad to see it in its current state but am hopeful that it’ll bounce back once the warmth returns ❤️🌱

Y’all can seriously relax lol. Let’s not burn the country down for my comment
I was not blaming OP for global warming or trying to be catastrophic about the situation.
Nor was I saying I’m going to track OP down and make sure they pay for their crimes.
Reddit is a place to share ideas and opinions whether or not they align with your personal beliefs and should be treated as such.
I was merely pointing out my point of view and doesn’t mean people have to do what I say or believe what I believe.
It’s ok to have an opinion! I promise you

I’m praying it doesn’t. Sorry not sorry!
Planting a monstera in florida is a very bad thing to do, in my most humble opinion, because they are considered as an invasive non-native and high risk plant as their roots basically just kill and out compete native plants.
Once native plants die, native animal species die with it.
🛑🛑DON’T TRY AND REVIVE THE PLANT! FINISH KILLING IT PLEASE! 🛑🛑
Edit: I don’t think it’s an opinion actually, it’s just the truth that planting a monstera or non native aroid plant in Florida is very bad for the ecosystem
TO INFORMAL BAG (commenter)! With all due respect to your opinion, what difference does it make? We have all hurt Mother Earth. So much so, that it’s too late for most of it. What we do now will not make the difference Mother Earth needs. Sorry not sorry!
OP My heart breaks for Florida! I’m so sorry! She looked beautiful like the monster she is!
I hope she comes back full force full of more fruit! 💚🌿
OP, I’m sorry for your freezer burn. I’m also sorry for people apparent blaming you for global warming and for killing Florida’s ecosystem. I’m at a loss
It will come back! I had the same thing happen to my huge outdoor monstera in north FL during a freeze a few years ago, and she bounced right back ♥️
She will!!!
My monstera experienced similar in the snap. I’m gonna trim back and pray the roots are still in good enough condition to start anew. 🥺
