Mount Congreve Gardens in Waterford reopened on Friday for the 2026 season with the launch of ‘Gardens and Grandeur’, a brand new guided tour experience which includes visitor access to the famous ‘Chinese Room’ for the first time.

Where else in Ireland can guests encounter a family whose ancestors invented rockets which inspired the lyrics of the US national anthem, and whose complex history includes an occupation by Dvorak-loving Old IRA rebels?
