I live in North DFW Metroplex area and this fiddle leaf was gifted by a friend who didn’t have enough space in the home to keep it, owing to the taller height. When I brought it home it was already in withered condition and was shedding. Since then I have repotted and I have seen few new leaves growing. Its also still shedding the older ones.

What can I do to bring it to a healthy life? If a chop is required, where do you suggest? Anything I should take care of while doing that?

Wait until spring to chop it. Chop whatever height you want leaves to begin growing at.

It likely needs more light if your window is north facing. If it is, best you can do is keep the window blinds UP. These guys need a lot of indirect light

The best trick for FLF is to let the soil go BONE DRY. You can determine this by lifting the pot – it will feel noticeably light weight and empty. Or drill your finger down deeply. If you feel any moisture, leave it

Once it’s bone dry, drench it in water. Then you’ll find the soil is saturated and the pot feels heavy.

FLF are notoriously fussy, good luck.
