Pulses like lentils, chickpeas, and cowpeas are celebrated as affordable protein sources. But what if there are plants that quietly contain more protein than pulses—even rivaling soybeans—yet remain largely unfarmed?
Body: In this video, we explore two overlooked protein powerhouses:
🌱 Winged Bean “The Supermarket on a Stem” A tropical legume with 30–40% protein, edible pods, leaves, seeds, flowers, and protein-rich tubers. Once hailed in the 1970s as the “soybean of the tropics,” it had the potential to transform global agriculture but it never did.
🌿 Duckweed (Water Lentils) Tiny floating plants that grow at astonishing speed, deliver complete protein with all essential amino acids, and can outperform land crops in protein yield per hectare.
This documentary-style video uncovers:
The hidden nutritional potential of underutilized crops
Farming, breeding, and processing challenges
Why nutrition alone doesn’t guarantee adoption
What these plants reveal about the future of food and sustainable agriculture
As climate change and protein demand rise, rediscovering forgotten crops may be just as important as inventing new ones.

I grow both of these. There's a lot of foods out there that we're not taught, not unless you start looking into perennial veggies and learn "they" only shove about 10 plants down our throats. 10 plants that don't provide enough nutrients for a healthy lifestyle. Expand your knowledge folks and your gardens.
You don't say what the plans are you just Babylon endlessly what a **** video
GREETINGS ! @BOTANIC-HERITAGE !
