Hi everyone,
I received this cutting from my sister about six months ago. I’m a carnivorous plant grower, so I have very little experience with this type of plant. It has rooted well so far, but I haven’t seen much progress.
Will this eventually propagate, and is there anything I can do to help it along?
My sister got this as a free gift for one of her order so we do not have ID on this plant. I appreciate it if someone can also help me ID this.
Thanks!

I believe that’s a *Hoya carnosa* (one of the variegated cultivars), and in my experience they start off really slow. It probably needs fertilizer to get going on making new shoots. I am absolutely not a hoya expert, but I’ve been using half strength fertilizer every few months on mine. Try checking out r/hoyas
yes! looks like a Hoya carnosa Krimson Princess to me, they’re kinda slow growers just be patient. they are soooo pretty
Hoya are pretty easy to grow your biggest surprise with will be how big they can get so just be prepared for that 😅
Mine have responded super well to fish fertilizer, and I think silica helps them grow thicker and more robustly in my experience
They can also be finicky about dropping baby leaves if you fiddle with them too much so I try to only doctor mine periodically
