The renovation of Bloomington Ice Garden is the first of three Bloomington Forward projects to be completed. Construction finished on time and on budget.
The updates improve safety, accessibility and the overall experience for athletes, families and visitors throughout
the facility.
High school locker rooms
The high school locker rooms are larger and offer more secure storage for equipment. They give hockey teams direct access to the rink, which reduces congestion and improves safety on game days.
Concessions area
The concessions area was rebuilt with updated equipment and a more efficient layout. The added space helps reduce lines and improves the experience for families attending events. Its location near the main rink also improves access during the biggest events.
Seating and viewing areas
The seating areas now offer improved sightlines and better climate control, helping fans follow the action more easily and stay comfortable during long tournaments. New lifts provide better access throughout the facility and expand ADA viewing opportunities.
Rink 3 changes
Rink 3 was resized from Olympic to NHL standard size and uses a more efficient ice system. The changes improve ice quality and allow the facility to host more tournaments
and events.
Restrooms and accessibility
Renovated restrooms and wider hallways make the facility easier for everyone to move through. New ADA improvements help ensure visitors of all abilities can enjoy the building.
Lobby and gathering spaces
The expanded lobby gives teams and families more room to gather before and after games. A new Minnesota-themed mural creates a more welcoming experience for visitors.
