  1. Your videos have been so creative this winter! Thank you, Laura. Question: as typical butterfly bushes need to be strongly cut back in my area (Boise), how would the spring blooming Mop Top perform since you can’t prune it back in early spring?

  2. I love videos like this. I will be moving from California to Washington State in the next three years and I keep a file of all the things I’d like to try when I get out of this heat heat zone that I live in. You have provided over the years so many varieties and examples and all the ones I’m drawn to. I just need to be in a lower zone so looking forward to the future thank you so much for making my future garden thrive with color and choices.

  3. Do you still have the stone and iron fence from the front garden? That would look great tucked in up the front in the south garden. I’m looking forward to your planting season. Wish my garden was larger so I could add all the plants.

  4. Texas Sage grows very well here in the Sonoran Desert of AZ….they are very popular here. I have no drip on mine. The only water is from the rain and they grow and bloom beautifully.

  5. Thank you so much for providing links to all of the plants in this video. It makes it so much easier to research each plant as well as making it more fun to do our spring dreaming/shopping. You take the time to do what many other gardening channels do not. Great job!

  6. I have had Sugar Tip Gold Rose of Sharon for 4 seasons. It was Variegated beautifully for 2 years and now comes up with no variegation. Nobody seems to be able to explain why, It is in full sun and very healthy otherwise. I will be interested to see if yours holds onto it's variegation…

  7. Thank you Laura. Rose of Sharon are not deer resistant. They graze on them in the spring in my experience in Arkansas zone 7.

  8. It's so fun to see all of these plants! Thank you for all you do to provide such informative and quality videos.
Have you considered going back to look at the things that you've ordered that were sent as 'trials' or to "be available next season", to show us how they have done to remind us that we may want to pick them up? I know you point one out occasionally, but a video for that purpose might be nice. I used to try to keep a list of the ones you shared that would be out "next year", but would somehow forget about it when planning what I want in the Spring.
American Beauty Berry is native to the Houston area; we see them in the forest on our walks. Several years ago, a bird "brought" one to me and put it in the very place i would have. It's quite large now and I love it! I have seen a Doe on her hind legs reaching up to graze on it. I want to tell her that there are plenty out in the woods she can graze on!

  9. Hi Laura, question is your rainwater high pH too? What if you installed a rainwater catch system and used that water to irrigate your blueberry bushes? Maybe catch all the water that runs off the pole barn and have a group of blueberry bushes near it?

  10. How fun to sit and dream about all the pretty things you can grow this coming season! Question: can you talk about how you manage weeds in and around prickly plants like the junipers you showed today? The yard I inherited from my husband's grandparents has junipers and barberries and I struggle with the grass and weeds that want to grow up through them. I usually hand pull weeds but oh my word these kinds of plants tear up my poor hands! I'm not against chemical weed control when needed, but I'm never sure what I can spray that will kill said weeds without harming the plant itself.

  11. Beautyberry and Rose of Sharon (Hibiscus) grow like weeds in Florida – Beautyberry is considered a weed but happily deer do not eat them. (There is up to 12-15 deer grazing in our 1 acre yard just outside town almost daily and they have never eaten either of these wonderful plants. I consider Beautyberry a gift from heaven as each summer it produces those gorgeous berries on long weeping stems that I cut off to make Beautyberry jelly. Eat it every morning in my yogurt as it is very mild honey flavored and starts my day perfectly. SO EASY. I've never watered, fertilized, 'taken care of' them but every year get a new batch of berries on their new branches for my jelly. They are considered weeds as the berries are prolific and produce new bushes quickly – just have to keep those cut down or let them grow and cut down the old bush after 5 years of producing in order to get more youthful branches with more berries. I also love my hibiscus for their blooms – they come back every spring (last to bloom and last to push out new leaves on old branches).

  12. Question about the highbush blueberry! And pollination in general. PW states that it will set some fruit but "you will definitely get a heavier fruit set if you plant another highbush blueberry nearby." Would a second Splendid Blue work for that? Or do you need to plant a different species other than Splendid Blue.

  13. I love botanical names, and that you always use them. Many can be quite challenging to say!
    I believe that
chaenomeles sounds like cha·nuh·meelz, with the accent on the first syllable. ❤
You are always an inspiration.Thank you so much for all that you are and all that you do.

  14. I would give my gardenia a cup of coffee each morning as I left for the day . That was a front courtyard urn in San Diego . Miss them in Pacific Northwest!

  15. I suggest using Bayer insect control 12 month. In the gardenia to prevent spider mites. Since they will be potted

  16. Yes, I have horrible deer pressure and Rose of Sharons have never failed me yet. They are deer AND bunny resistant. I have a Rose of Sharon White Chiffon hedge behind a row of Miss Molly Buddleia, Yellow Coriopsis, Yellow Molly Alliums, and Shasta Daisies in that garden row. A true highlight every Summer. I also can tell you that cows and horses will stay away (ask me how I know that, lol).

  17. A great video of what plants you are getting for your garden and there are some really beautiful ones to .can't wait to see them in your garden

  18. Oh so excited for your 2026 arrivals! I just yesterday bookmarked that Eternal White quince to order this spring. I have the perfects spot and I can't wait! Thanks for sharing!

  19. Hey Laura, I had a yellow clematis years ago, but it was really invasive so I’m just wondering if this is a knock off of that one that isn’t as invasive that would be interesting to know

  20. Great episode ❤❤ I’m making a list of new shrubs to try. Thanks so much for the wealth of information you all provide. I’m in the very southeast corner of AL. SO, I ENVY the conifers you all are able to grow. I am constantly pushing the edge with what I can grow.
Again thank you for all you and Aaron do. Love your Mama too. Such a cute talented industrious family 🥰

  21. Beautyberry is a native to where we live here in southeastern alabama. We pick them wild off of our property. We have been digging them out of our woods and moving them to our woodland edible native garden. We have VERY acidic soil on this side of the Mississippi River so they may not like your alkaline soil.

  22. I really find your order videos helpful in planning and selecting new and old plants and shrubs very helpful. Thank you Laura

  23. I have been able to propogate my pearl glam beauty berry! I now have 4 . I absolutely love the irradescent purple berries 💜

  24. Can you pretend you live in zone 9/10 and show us what you would do. I want all your color but with zone 9/10 I citrus palms and cactus

  25. Surprised that this is your first time to grow Sugar Tip Rose of Sharon. I ordered one last spring and I think you are going to love it!!! Looking forward to seeing how it does for you.

  26. I have three of the Tortuga Junipers. The puke-green they turn in winter, I'm not a fan.

  27. Lovely, I'm looking forward to seeing you place them in the ground. When will we be seeing more large trees placed?

  28. Hi Laura, with all the evergreen youre planting, wont that make the surrounding soil pretty acidic ? Blue Hydrangea could be in your future ??? i will be planting some this spring , but my soil is acidic enough NY zone 5b 6

  29. After watching this Amazing list of shrubs, i had a video pop up with In the Garden with Claudia. She was touring a Garden with someone named Gene in Portland. I know it'll not the same zone as you…But, he had some amazing Comifers, maples and other trees i don't think you have. One is Chief Joseph, it turns bright yellow in the winter, his garden is all about winter interest seed pods, grass interest, etc. I think you and Aaron, and your mom would enjoy it❤ (5 mo. Ago) Your excitement for new plants is catchy, can't wait for Spring!

  30. Gardenia is my favorite plant. Try putting some coffee grounds on the shrub to lightly acidify it.

  31. If only I had access to some of these plants. I would give anything to have a nursery like your parents' in our town of York, Pa. Unfortunately much of the stock available is boring .

  32. When you cut back on old wood after the spring blooms, could you show us where to cut back at to keep the shrub from getting real big.
