Just got this shipment yesterday, all the roots are dead but the plants look healthy enough, whats my chance of survival here? I'm not new to orchids but this is my first time with catteya.
I cleaned up the roots, some have very tiny stubs coming in so thats good, but some have no new growth nor roots left, can those recovery??
I bundle them up in a moss ball, in my environment a moss ball this size will dries within 4-5 days and I plan to water once a week.

With work they will likely survive, but there’s no way you should receive Cattleyas from a merchant in that condition. That’s horrible. It says that they are inept growers.
I would scream for my money back and/or leave a bad review.
If they were sent without pots then the roots were gonna die anyway…
I think these look very healthy and they will survive. Where did you order from?
Simple, if it was stated, then it is fine, cattleyas, with correct care, bounce back well, plants themselves seem fine. In case it wasnt stated, f. that, would want part of my money back. It would now cost me far more time/resources to get them goin as they should
What merchant did you order these from? So I know to avoid them like the plague
I think they’ll recover. They’re pretty big with plenty of pseudobulbs. Especially if there’s decent humidity. Clean them well and Be careful not to bury the rhizome but lay it on top. Stake of you have to. Orchids rot out faster than they die from drying. Obviously make sure they don’t dessicate regardless. But airflow is a requirement not an option.
I personally don’t use moss because I never had good success with it all. At most I had sprinkled a little here and there. But even stopped that.
I use a chunky medium. But you can try to see what works for you.
