Collection occurs between 7:00 a.m. & 3:30 p.m. Have your materials ready for collection by 7:00 a.m. on the first day scheduled for your area.

Be aware that there will be additional traffic and activity in neighborhoods on the designated clean-up days during these times.

City crews will pass through your area only once on the specified date, but branch bundles and paper bags will be collected separately and at different times.

The large equipment can move unexpectedly and may have blind spots. Please stay out of the work zone. Keep children and pets well away from working equipment.

Preparing your waste

Yard and garden waste, leaves, grass, and branches up to 6 inches in diameter ONLY.
All leaves, grass and garden refuse must be bagged in compostable kraft paper bags ONLY.
All branches must be tied and bundles in short lengths, not exceeding 6 feet, using cotton or fibre-based string.
Maximum collection is one cubic yard of refuse – approximately ½ ton truck.

Collection tips

All yard and garden waste should be placed on your property line, in the alley (if applicable).
Material left in your lane or at your property line will be regarded as collection materials.
Please do not place any refuse other than items listed above in your collection area.

Reminders

Loose leaves or clippings will not be collected.
Open burning is not permitted within the City of Trail.
