Love your channel and all your videos. I look forward to the blog.
How about pocket prayer quilts ?
I like the newsletter idea and don’t mind any of the links to products or patterns but the blogs are super duper annoying with all the advertising and pop up boxes that get in the way of actually enjoying the content. Also, I just love your portrait blocks. They would make a fun wall hanging with all the whimsy going on there. When you said a lady with a blue beehive, good ol’ Marge Simpson popped into to my mind.
And talk with your hands all you want! You’re adorable 😊
Love your channel and have made a few of the smaller projects (coffee cozy, pencil pouch, book sleeves). If you create a pattern for a tablet, could you please, please, please teach us how to an outside zippered pocket on it with a slip pocket behind the zippered one? Thanks for your consideration. 😊
Amei, fiquei muito feliz que coloca-se o tradutor para eu assessar (português Brasil )❤ 🇧🇷 Thank you ( obrigado).
Nope, my goals for sewing always get changed. 2025 was no purchasing fabricunless to finish a current ufo I deemed I love and much finish and I ended up mid year -July with a full knee replacement. So going to keep that 2025 idea and roll it to 2026 and see how many squirrels run across that goal 😂and distract me.
Being animated probably helps you think/access ideas? Some people have the need from birth for movement. I believe it’s a learning style called, “kinetic.” I admit sometimes I find it distracting to watch, but perhaps that’s because my learning style is different from yours? Anyway, we all need to be accepting of these different ways of being if we want to get along with each other, right?
Your hippos are adorable! Wishing I had a young child in the family for whom to make those. Looking forward to seeing your new garment makes. My garment sewing is typically frustrating, so I seldom try it. I enjoy machine embroidery projects so sew much more! 😊
I can't find where to sign up for your newsletter. Can you help me out please?
A lepidopterist is a person who collects butterflies
You are always an inspiration! I usually just loosely make sewing plans in my head. But, after watching this episode I’m going to internalize some of your ideas and make my ideas more visible. I won’t necessarily hold myself to those ideas but the structure will help me. How can I send you a couple of photos? Thank you for always having great ideas to share!!
I love the sampler quilt. I’m also inspired to get out my bits and pieces to create an innovative quilt!
Could you cover the brittle fabric in a sheer fabric and quilt on top to preserve it and see the under pattern? No clue if that’s a possibility but I saw a lady on YouTube cover tiny scraps with tulle and quilt over it to make a bag with otherwise unusable pieces.
The vintage quilt top yiu could complete and put it under Perspex or gas’s as a wall picture. Being under the Perspex or glass will preserve it.
Love that you're leaving the mistakes because it's all beautiful
3 things…
1- I love Merry Mable Market! I just watched her tutorial about quilting and incorporating lace! Soooo BEAUTIFUL!!! I can't wait to see what you create using her method! 😊
2- I had to laugh at myself when you talked about your figure type being an hour glass and busty (I know you weren't complaining, just describing). I laughed because when I was young, I described my figure as a stick – flat and no curves ANYWHERE! Now that I'm old, I describe it as a chubby stick – now I have curves, just not where I'd like them to be! LOL!
3- I can relate to making something and NOT loving it. I recently decided to completely undo an outfit I was still in the process of making (including a hidden zipper down the back!), and cut it up into different size pieces that can be used in quilts and other projects. I simply didn't love it anymore. So, you're not alone, I'm sure this happens to all sewers from time to time.
The hippos are so cute! I made your giraffe pattern and sent you a pic. I made both the boy and girl. I will have to get the hippo pattern now. To answer your question, I don't have a plan per se. I gave some things I want to do, make a quilt, finish some quilts and then something cute will pop up like sew some dolls for my granddaughter or make giraffes for 2 of my grandkids. I am currently making 3( 7 inch dolls) with hopefully several outfits each and now I want to make hippos… haha
I don't make sewing plans b/c I don't want to feel disappointed when I don't carry them out, whatever the reason 😄! I will miss "Making History," but I certainly understand why it's not going to continue and am grateful for the fun year. My father made a Kazak prayer rug years ago and they require a mistake to be deliberately made because only God is perfect – so your quilt is a very human quilt 😆!
Aww, Nikki. I'm bummed about the podcast being done but really impressed with your decision and explanation.
I saw the newsletter arrive and didn't have time to read it yet but I'll certainly look forward to those – especially the 'making history' tidbits.
Keep up the good work!
All your finger pointing and hand movements are part of what makes you fun!! Its who you are! I watch Mary Mabel Market too!
I make a new list of goals of what I want to sew and for who every January sprinkled with small fun projects. I've purchased a few of your patterns that make fun gifts. I really appreciate having the list to keep me rolling. It doesn't mean I get them all done, cuz as you, sometimes I change my mind!
Maybe you already have a video , on mitering corners. (not the finished binding corners though). If not , I'd love one as you explain quilt sewing that's easy to understand and watch.
Love your enthusiasm , all your delightful different quilt , keep up your great work , Australia
I really like the sampler and improvisational quilts (I find these most fun to create). One quilt project at a time is my style, less chaos in my space. I am always thinking about something new, but until the current one is completely done, I wait. Hand and machine embroidery are also fun sources of creativity for me. I like the idea of just making the quilt top and then quilt later. I might just give it a try.

I miss blogs and blogging. … looking forward to receiving your newsletter.
I set quilting goals it helps me not forget about projects… I get about half of what I write down done…. mostly its a ti.e issue or lack thereof
