Some of Suffolk’s mysteries will be on display to the public next month as hidden secret gardens open across the county.
The National Garden Scheme grants access to secluded and private gardens in many towns and villages in the UK.
It raises money for charity through ticket sales and refreshments such as tea, coffee and cake,
In June, there will be three gardens in Suffolk allowing visitors to explore what is normally kept hidden.
1. Gable House

Where: Halesworth Road, Redisham, Beccles, Suffolk, NR34 8NE
When: Sunday, February 15
Cost: £5 for adults and free for children
On the open day, the garden will have a large collection of snowdrops, cyclamen and other flowering plants to discover.
The greenhouse contains rare bulbs and many plants will be for sale.

2. Great Thurlow Hall
Where: Great Thurlow, Haverhill, Suffolk, CB9 7LF
When: Sunday, February 22
Cost: £7 for adults and free for children
The hall has 13 acres of gardens set around the River Stour, which sees masses of snowdrops in late winter and daffodils in spring.
A yew parterre has been planted recently and the walled kitchen garden is undergoing redevelopment.

3. Blakenham Woodland Garden

Where: Little Blakenham, Ipswich, Suffolk, IP8 4LZ
When: Sunday, February 8
Cost: £7 for adults and £3 for children
Guests will be able to see a variety of rare trees and shrubs, Chinese rocks and a landscape spiral form in the six-acre garden.
There will be refreshments available and the shop Totally Granola will also be open.
