You mentioned a couple times that you don't know what type of fern you picked up at the garden center. Did you know that you can take a photo on your iPhone, then go to the photo and select the 'i inside the circle' at the bottom, then select 'Look Up Plant' and your phone will look it up for you? I looked up this fern and it came back as 'Cretan Brake Fern'. I hope that helps you and your viewers because it's the best feature for gardeners and so simple to use!
Oops! Did you forget to put the powder in the soil mixture to stop gnats🙃
Hi 👋 Laura
no gnatrol??
Benjamin is such a helper ! He growing up so fast
Wish it was slowed down and closer when she was separating the pansies
Those battery powered pruners scare me as well!
I love how Ben is helpin out with the gator! Livin the dream right there!
I'm glad to hear you are scared of those battery driven loppers, and insert battery only when ready to use, and then remain very careful.
So fun to watch these projects on a cold winter day! Question…Was there a reason that you didn't mix the fungus gnat control powder into the potting mix for the house plants? And also, for the transplant trays? I have house plants to pot up and I always get gnats, even with the Espoma potting mix, which I then have to use the sticky traps. I was hoping to do something to prevent them in the first place.
I love seeing how you've changed over the years. I remember you would clean off the table before starting the project, in between each pot and then at the end. Now its like you don't even see the dirt. 🙂 Thank you for sharing your life in the garden with us for so long.
Question, would you try to keep this busy with gardening if you didn’t have a YouTube channel?
That’s pretty good on the pansies. I used to buy pansy seeds from park seeds, and the seed packets listed the germination at 90 to 92% depending on the variety. So the number of plant you have matches that germination rate.
Is the string of turtles a succulent? I love the look of that and the fern and hope to find on here in southeast Tx. Benjamin is such a wonderful helper!
Well…you got it all in one load😅!
The plant placement is beautiful Laura ❤❤❤❤❤
Oh hun! The pothos in the corner needs a repot and a good prune so you can propagate it while it looks like it’s loving its life right now pruning would spurt new growth. Are you into propagating your houseplants or are you in the camp of I’ll just buy mature ones from the start?
Oh Laura, that's a Rabbit's foot fern. Very interesting to grow
Your variegated unnamed fern looks to be a kind of Variegated Brake Fern… a type of Pteris fern.

Bet cutting that sunflower back was satisfying!! Do you think you could turn it into a blooming “cave” or house for the kids to play in this summer? Maybe cut some of the interior creating an open space and tying or weaving the tops of the stalks together to form a roof of blooms? Seems like the plant is tough enough to handle it and the kids are the perfect size to enjoy it. 💕😊🌻
Has Arron looked into a shredder for your compost pile? Maybe a small electric one or maybe an implement attachment?
To be fair to Dewalt, there is a safety trigger on the pruners. Yes, they're strong and care must be taken, but they don't fire randomly. Not flinging them around while you're speaking would help make them more safe 🙂
It’s a Ribbon Fern
Fern variety is probably “CRETAN BRAKE FERN (Pteris cretica)”🌿
Love that you keep houseplant potting and care simple.🪴

Nice job Laura, now that was a giant perennial!! Hi Benjamin!! It is always great to see you pop up, hep out, and teach us about birds! I live not too far here in Idaho, and I have learned quite a bit from you, young man, so thank you! My husband is going to take me to Andrew's very soon for a "date" day, I am so excited and saving my pennies! (I have a list)! ❤The String of Turtles is a showstopper, so pretty. 🐢(I hope the paper pots are available again soon)! 🙏🏼
Great video! I just want to say sometimes great editing is obvious and many will comment about it, but the editing on this video was superb! The subtlety of the music beat moving with the speed/slowing down of the pansy separation was great! I really appreciate the effort I know was put into the small details that make a big impact in the overall video quality. Thanks! ❤
Curious, did you start the Maximilian Sunflower from seed? Or was this a perennial you bought from a garden center? In-laws have 20 acres and 10 are under power lines so we can’t plant trees. Something like this would be wonderful to see dotted throughout the property! Thank you!!
🌸
I believe the fern you have is a ribbon fern pteris cretica
8:48 – you kneeling pad is under the tractor when you dumped it and then set the tail gate down! Love seeing Benjamin helping and wanting to be with you to do stuff.
❤
Thank you for the continued gardening lessons and inspiration. I am only a few years into gardening and each year I try to incorporate a new skill or plant(s) while planning for my upcoming garden. My latest endeavor is houseplants, do you have recommendations for tastefully incorporating grow lights into a space? My living room has extremely low natural light but could use some plants. I have a few low light plants but desire to add different varieties.
Maybe get a little dustpan brush in your Pots sheds and brush them prior to hosing them ?
I think that it is a Pteris fern @15:47
