is it dead? saw spider mites and dunked whole plant in soapy water, only 3 drops of soap in a big thing of water. didn’t water directly afterwards because the roots were slightly waterlogged, but then woke up this morning and it looked like this 🙁 soil is perlite, orchid bark, vermiculite and peat moss, and this plant only tolerates distilled water.

im open to any suggestions, even if you think a tissue culture has a chance at growing. thank you!

She probably wasn’t happy with the soap… I treated my calathea ONCE with a mix of neem oil, alcohol, dish soap and water and a few days later she lost a few leaves. Calatheas are just super sensitive to literally ANYTHING. You can try to cut down all the leaves and hope for new shoots to come…

I’d give her a hair cut. Fingers crossed!

Yeah soapy water doesn’t always bode well. If the root system is still intact there is a change they’ll come back

If the roots look good. It should come back but will take time . All stems should be cut they’re over with
