Hi everyone, I've been lurking here and seeing the insane valuation of some of your collections (Albos, Spirits, etc.).
So I challenged myself to build a dedicated 'Portfolio Tracker.'
1- The Goal: Treat cuttings like stock assets.
The Problem: I'm a coder, not a commercial seller.
I'm looking for 5-10 people with serious collections to roast my UI and tell me if the 'ROI' and 'Market Value' features are actually useful, or if I'm over/under-engineering it.
– Honest feedback welcome: Would you actually use this?
2- The Goal: family tree software
I'm coding a feature that links plant cuttings to their 'Mother Plant' visually (like family tree software).
Since I don't propagate commercially, I need a sanity check from the experts here: When you sell a cutting, is it valuable to show the buyer the full history/photos of the mother plant? Or do buyers not care as long as the genetics look good? Is this useful for proving authenticity?

This would be okay for just about anything except botany or horticulture. AI especially has little to no place in either.
Explain lineage engine.
I highly doubt the ID feature will work, none of the ones available work particularly well- Seek/inaturalist is good but still gets things wrong.
As far as market value, things change constantly in the plant market- I don’t know how you are sourcing the information here but it would need an update weekly if not daily to stay current. And there would be very little way to predict future profit without an insiders knowledge of what plants are in TC currently at places like Costa Farms.
Genuinely sick of AI related stuff in the plant world.
I hate the font.
