Vampire crabs should not be housed alone. Minimum for 3 is 5 gallons.
This crab was sold alone and was about to go into care that would have killed them if I did not buy them from petsmart (they were about to put them in saltwater). So i bought the singleton crab. Hopefully i can find a colony for him eventually. But I had this lamp…

This lamp makes a cute terrarium for plants but is not at all suitable for housing even one vampire crab, it just does not meet their care requirements. Honestly? Just buy a cheap five gallon tank and set up a proper enclosure. They need access to water deep enough to fully submerge in so that they can molt properly.
