The event, hosted by Dobbies’ Tewkesbury store as part of its Little Seedlings Club, will take place on Sunday, February 1, and focus on composting, teaching children what compost is, the difference between green and brown waste, and what can and can’t be composted.
Young participants will also take part in a fun sorting challenge and learn about compost creatures and the environmental benefits of composting.
Ayesha Nickson, events programme manager at Dobbies, said: “Our February Little Seedlings Club is a great way for budding gardeners to learn all about the interesting and practical ways waste can be reused, and be inspired about composting, gardening and looking out for nature.
“We’re looking forward to welcoming kids along to our February workshop and can’t wait to see their mini compost bottle creations.”
The session will include advice on starting a compost heap at home, composting in small spaces, and using compost for indoor and outdoor plants.
Children will be able to create their own compost bottles to take home and use in their own gardens.
The Little Seedlings Club meets monthly and covers a variety of seasonal gardening topics through interactive activities and games.
