Kate Dobson, Chair of OLSE PTA, said: “Thanks to the incredibly generous grant from Marsden Building Society, our PTA has been able to purchase everything needed to establish our new school community garden.
“This support will have a lasting impact, giving children the chance to learn, grow, and enjoy the space for years to come.”
“The funding has allowed the PTA to purchase essential tools, equipment, and secure storage, ensuring that the garden can be used year-round by pupils and the wider school community.”

The garden aims to support the pupils’ wellbeing by offering opportunities to learn about fruit and vegetables during lessons and after-school gardening clubs.
It also aims to promote healthy living and benefit the wider community by donating seasonal fruit and vegetable boxes to vulnerable people.
Rob Pheasey, chief executive of Marsden Building Society, said: “We’re pleased to support the Our Lady and St Edward’s Catholic Primary School PTA in creating a space that brings children and the wider community together.
“The ‘Love My School Community Garden’ is a fantastic initiative that promotes healthy living, learning, and inclusion. These values align perfectly with our Charitable Foundation’s commitment to building something better for Lancashire.”
