First Pic is the finished product. Second is the start, then so the stages leading through. Had zero experience, but I'm pretty happy with the result. Mariposa Slate Flagstones and Decomposed Granite. Leveling was a pain, they varied from 1.5 to 4 inches in thickness, very irregular etc. Still have a ton of work to do here, but this was the start. Next up, a new back fence, then plants and trees to be added.

Certainly not bad for first time install- I would generally aim for smaller gaps unless I was going to plant groundcover but still less in that case as well
you should be happy enjoy the fire!
Not bad for your first attempt.
Looks nice, look to get those edges down. Those will grab toes after a few drinks late at night.
What’d you throw in the joints? I’ve had really good results and longevity using Gator Maxx G2 on natural stone applications cause of the (inevitable) wider joints, really holds it all together.
I must say you did well for a first timer and to think you had no prior experience, that’s great. It will look better and more beautiful next time you try it again. Good job
I love it
