Welcome to Becky’s Garden, winner of the Gardena Top of the Plots ‘Small Garden’ category in 2025 thanks to her incredible packed vegetable garden that defies what is possible in the smallest of spaces by using a range of different planting techniques – even as much as protecting the garden from cats! I hope you are as inspired watching this as I was visiting. #gardeningideas #urbangarden #vegetablegarden

Very cool!
You are awesome, Becky – growing and achieving all you have done but growing nectarines and mangoes – truly amazing! XxxX
I'd be interested to have her comment of "I've won a battle against the slugs" expanded on. I know what she means by the cats and she's said what she did about them – but not what she did about the slugs.
Amazing garden.

Amazing garden… amazing Lady! Becky your garden is such an inspiration… thank you for sharing it with us! Blessings on your growing! ππ
We are kindred spirits Becky. My garden is just a little bigger. I use beer traps for slugs and have to net against pigeons, cabbage butterflies and various beetles. Chicken wire around beds to stop cats. The garden looks almost unnatural until everything starts growing. I will try growing a nectarine too. Thank you for sharing.
It's so refreshing to see a normal sized garden and how productive snd beautiful it can be.
I think a lot of people thinking of getting a cat donβt consider the damage they do to their neighbours gardens. Wish people would be a bit more considerate as we shouldnβt have to cover our beds to stop the neighbours cats from pooing in them
Gardening is basically creating a large outdoors buffet and then hoping the neighborhood critters will leave enough for you!!
The chipmunks take a bite out of every strawberry. Robin chicks are 12h/day blueberry and grape eating machines. The raccoons will ignore the dozens of ripe bruised plums on the ground to gorge on the nice ones still in the tree. The groundhog will thwart your plans of having kale and orach salads all summer long (you won't get a single leaf). The squirrels will have you wondering where the hell your young zucchinis keep vanishing to.
10/10, I recommend gardening and will still continue to do it every year! π
My garden is a little bit bigger than this but hugely productive. Growing your own is fantastic isn't it. Cats are absolutely the bane of my life.
She's doing what God created and intended for us to do.β€
Our garden in 25×50 feet. I love watching things grow too! Every year is different. Learning how to make happy soil with no dig is fun right!! Itβs taken us 3 years to get from clay to fluff.
