Our dad passed away back in 2012, at his nieces funeral some years previous he had been gifted a vining hanging plant. This plant was our childhood treasure, he hung up fishing line and it strong across majority of our house. My sister is getting into plants and would love to have this addition to incorporate keeping him and his story alive with us. Blurry pictures I know, but any idea or leads on what this could be? A sort of pothos something different? Michigan, USA

Likely a golden pothos, they love to trail and are exceptionally common and easy to care for

I agree that it’s probably a pothos. They like to grow like this, but it will take some years to get this long and viney. But they are great starter plants for someone new to houseplants – easy to take care of, hardy and hard to kill. Water regularly but don’t let the roots rot, be sure pot has good drainage. Plenty of sunlight. They’ll grow beautifully. If a bit breaks off, they are easy to propagate too.
