Essex has dozens of brilliant garden centres perfect for buying things for your garden, or simply for a mooch on a sunny day. One such garden centre is Plant Perfections in Battlesbridge, which fans particularly like for its “affordable prices”.
The family-run garden centre in Beeches Road has also been hailed for its ‘friendly’, and ‘wide range of products’, and has a popular membership scheme
It’s by Paul and Tracy Tindal, who previously ran a garden centre in Upminster before relocating to Battlesbridge. They now run Plant Perfections with their son, Jack.Asked what’s different about their centre in South Essex compared to others in the county, Mr Tindal responded: “We are a proper garden centre – we sell plants. I do not do coffee shops. We do not have one of those. We are 100 per cent plant-based.”
Plant Perfections was voted as the best garden centre in Essex in a survey of EssexLive readers in 2024. One person who nominated the garden centre said: “This family-owned and run business is a pleasure to shop at. They have such a variety of plants, pots, and so much more. They always do an excellent Christmas range and a competition to win money.
“They support many charities and do so much to help people whilst working so hard all week. All my plants, pots and a stunning Darth Vader garden ornament that I won in their weekly competition. They are all great people, and we all wait for our Friday videos to see what antics they’ve been up to.”
