  1. Im reading that tree spinach (chaya) is toxic until sautéed or boiled for 10-15 mins. Do you have a different variety that's ok to eat raw?

  2. This is one of my favourite crops. I love growing it. I never need to replant or buy seeds, it just pops up and can be easily moved when young. 😊

  3. Can you please recommend an online nursery to order it from? Or do you have to buy seeds instead? Thanks!

  4. Please add the scientific name. Tree spinach in the new world is another plant that is toxic when eaten raw.

  5. I had a plant last year in the garden with height, shape and leaves like this, grown by itself, but the color was much darker. I couldn't tell if its edible or not 🤷🏻‍♂️

  6. I am pleased that I got some seeds for this and will grow some this year – and share it with all my friends, if it reseeds where I live. I'm also curious about if it's nice in a vase?

  7. Selfsows like mad to be honest, but easy to pull out.
Better to harvest the younger leaves as they are more tender.
Young plants are nicer looking because the magenta shows off better. In good garden soil it easily reaches 2 meters and (way) above. I'd mix in some leaves in a salad but not too many because they contain oxalate. Same goes for cooking. Mix them into a stirfry for example.
Feed some to your chickens too. Not suitable for a small garden I'd say, but if you have enough space? Why not?

  8. Wygląda imponująco. Nie widziałam nasion tej rośliny w Polsce .
Może na początku sezonu, na wiosnę pojawią się w sklepach..
