WATERLOO, N.Y. — Seneca County Cornell Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners invite community members to join them on Saturdays this February for Seed to Supper Beginning Gardening classes. The classes will be offered as a 3-week session Saturdays, February 7th, 14th, and 21st from 9 am to 12 pm at the Waterloo Community Center, 3 Oak Street, Waterloo, NY 13165.
The 3 classes are designed for those interested in learning how to grow a low-cost vegetable garden, whether at home or in a community setting. Participants will learn how to plan, plant, care for, and harvest their own garden. There will be opportunities to garden and future field trips to the Seneca County Community Garden to see the demonstration gardens and participate in growing as a community. Transportation provided upon request. Through grant funding, these sessions are offered free of charge.
“We offered this series at the Office for the Aging last year and it was such a great success we wanted to present it again and to be sure the other folks had the chance to participate.”, said SCCCE Horticulture Program Educator Tricia Carvalho. “Our Master Gardeners are so knowledgeable and love sharing that knowledge with others. I know that people are really going to love the sessions and get a lot out of them.”
Registration for the classes is open to any individual interested in participating in the weekly sessions beginning Saturday, February 7th. If you have any questions related to participation in the Seed to Supper Program, please email Tricia Carvalho at [email protected]. Registration is required by Saturday, January 31, 2026.
