Firstly, thank you Josh's Frogs, this is awesome. Secondly, what the heck, y'all gave me extra "gift" cards too?? That's crazy.
The only thing is that I ordered 3 air plants of 2 diff types and there's only 2 air plants total. I think they're going to send the other one later, but I'm kinda confused I admit, it wasn't written super clear 😅
As for everything else: it's perfect, like legitimately so super perfect. Exactly what I wanted, needed, expected.
Manzanita twigs? My good people, if you were wondering whether or not to order some from them, PLEASE do it. They're much larger, prettier, and well-picked than I could have imagined, and they complement the spiderwood I chose well enough (sorta). I have a variety of shapes and textures, and 2 of them are similar in color to the spiderwood. I'm so impressed by those little guys. They have good branching, color, and texture, even for being tiny. I ordered 4, and 3 of them are about half an inch thick. They're all similar in size, and are about 7-8 inches long as a rough guess.
The individually picked spider wood is everything I hoped it be and more, I really like it and definitely chose right. Couldn't more satisfied for it. I have 2 totally different ideas, so now it's just seeing which seems to fit the space the best and look the nicest.
There are still things I need to buy in town, and more things I need to order later, this is mostly the stuff for the background and hardscape, plus a few miscellaneous things I'll need later.
I couldn't be happier. I couldn't be…
Although I do need to figure out what's going on with that one last plant haha 😅
Anyways, if you were considering ordering, DO IT. They held off for a few days even to ensure the temps were alright for my air plants, though interestingly I'm also in Michigan (Josh's Frogs facility is located in Michigan too, but several hours away (across the state)). So if it's winter and you live further, I'd order some heat packs or choose to order later. Right now there's a thaw luckily, so it kinda worked out. Even though just a few days ago we were being hit with blizzards all over the state.
Oh speaking of which, they did opt to delay my order. I ordered Friday night after getting paid, and since it was going to be priority overnight, I was expecting it to ship on Monday. However, we had bad storms and I genuinely knew, intuitively, that they'd opt to hold off a few days. I'm so happy they did, because everything arrived intact and people, fellow human whose job it is to drive packages from point A, to point B, were safer not having to be out there either.
I did hold off on ordering the other plants yet, I wanted to see how these guys fared first. A sort of test. Also working with paychecks and I've been both sick and injured until this week, so I haven't worked much since around the beginning of the holiday season (like around Dec 20th), so ofc the money isn't really coming in awesomely rn and now it's all paying bills 😅
But, this terrarium/vivarium I'm setting up is a holiday gift to myself. I'm thoroughly enjoying it.
Anyways, Josh's Frogs, 5 stars.
Kk, if you were debating ordering, do it. This is my second order through them and they've overall been great.

Whoops ok… uhh, ig—
1. Stuff arrived on January 8th, 2026
2. Plants names are Tillandsia brachyca var multiflora and tillandsia ionantha scaposa. There ofc will be more after I order some new things hahah
3. Light source, tbd. I’m looking at the Terra Sky light, that looks cool as heck.
4. Water will honestly be my well water. I’ve had it tested, it’s a bit hard but otherwise safe. We use limited treatments and idk if it’s common for most/all wells but there’s no heavy metals or chorine or anything like that either.
5. Substrate medium, also tbd, I’m planning on ordering the materials to make that with the rest of the plants. It’ll probably have coco fiber in it, not just because I have it but because it’s helpful in these setups. I’ll probably do a standard bio-bedding or standard ABG mix.
6. Enclosure size – it is an 18x18x18. I will be eventually putting juvenile firebelly toads in it and once they outgrow it, I will be moving them into a bigger tank and then using this tank as a permanent setup for a pair of female starry night or blue back reed frogs or clown tree frogs. Most likely the reed frogs though, tbh.
