I have a very large and old Pothos. I went away for a month, and my partner took care of my plants. He did well, but when I came back, I noticed that the biggest leaf of my plant was turning yellow. Oh well, that happens sometimes, so I didn’t pay much attention to it.

A few days later, I went to pluck it off, and that’s when I noticed a weird "moldy" pattern. Upon further investigation, I discovered this pest.

I’ve never had anything like this before. It seems to be affecting other healthy leaves as well. I also noticed some leaves with a strange shiny coating and pieces of spider webs (?).

I’m at a loss on how to proceed, as this is one of my oldest and dearest plants.

I water it once a week, and it’s near a window but out of direct sunlight.

I am sure it has scales and it mat have spider mites.
Alcohol will be your best ally with both of those pests. Spray it happily on both sides of the leaves and the stems. I also recommend using beneficial bugs to help prevent further contamination (but not at the same time as alcohol since those kind guys are also affected by it).
Also while using alcohol, keep the plant away from light.
Lastly quarantine it immediatly and inspect other plants.
    Good luck 😤

Yes that looks like scale insects. I can’t really tell in your photos if it looks like spider mites too.
