A successful year for this Rhyncholaelia digbyana, one where it received a boatload of sun. It grew alongside my desert rose plants over the summer in middle Tennessee and now it’s getting 4500 foot-candles under Florawave grow lights. The plant produces its own type of white sunscreen to survive high light environments, of which the leaves are slathered in. It’s very fragrant at night and smells like lemon lime!

This is present in my Blc. Ports of Paradise and I can’t wait for it to reach maturity so I can experience that citrus fragrance myself. Plus I love green flowers.

    Congratulations 🎉

I’m still waiting on my Rhyncholaelia digbyana to bloom. It’s been 5-6 years and still nothing. I did get it as a seedling and Mac from Carter and Holmes told me it would be years before it would bloom. Hopefully this will be the year 🤞🏽
