Found these orange lil guys in my viv today and not quite sure what they are, could anyone provide an id for them? I'm not sure if they're harmful or beneficial to the ecosystem. Thanks!

I should also add they moved pretty quickly!

Mites, likely soil mites. All vivariums get em eventually. They get huge populations and crawl all over the tank and whatever is nearby. Then the colony crashes and they disapear. Harmless but unsightly.

Soil mites most likely. Not a parasitic mite. Happens alot.

Ugh soil mites.. my crestie enclosure got them.. it’s weird bc they only crawl out when I open the doors, and it was only ever like 10-15 that crawled.. I see them In there randomly so I know they are still there, but it never was so bad they were all over the inside and outside of the tank I just keep adding more springtails lol..

I’m afraid to stop misting for like a week. I see people saying they do that… but I don’t want my springtails and isopods to crash.. it’s so humid here over the summer so I didn’t mist for 3 days sometimes(no gecko is in it) I was waiting for the CUC and plants to flourish, then I got mites and was freaking out… my CUC died and I’m now waiting again for them to flourish haha. I now mist and have those little white dots of mold all over in my soil🤦‍♀️…. I CANT FREAKING WIN LOL.
